Description
Aquaforest Lava Soil
PRODUCT INFO:
Aquaforest Lava Soil is a natural substrate based on volcanic lava, which is enriched with essential minerals for plant growth. When used, it slowly releases the substances contained within it, feeding the plants. The substrate is pre-rinsed, but aquarium water may become cloudy for up to 12 hours after the product is added. This is natural and does not cause any side effects. After approximately 12 hours has passed, the turbidity should subside. Because Lava Soil is rich in minerals, we recommend that you carefully dispense other fertilizers for the first six months after being added. This will help to control an over accumulation of micronutrients. Size of the granules varies from 1 to 8 mm.
HOW TO USE:
Sprinkle a 7 cm layer of AF Lava Soil over the tank base. Cover the substrate with water, and plant. Once planted, fill the aquarium to the top with water.
Size: 5L

I am very happy with the substrate visually, but find it difficult to plant my stem plants in the substrate as the substrate is fairly lose, but it makes it a lot easier to remove and move my plants with a heavy and complex root systems.

Very good medium-to-dark substrate. Minimal ammonia release during cycling. The dark color of this substrate makes the greens of your aquarium plants look absolutely vibrant.
