Prodibio – AquaGrowth Soil 9L
rodibio has launched a new range of soils for freshwater aquarium. These simple and powerful products enable fast and balanced starting your aquarium.
A simple and effective range
Prodibio has selected AquaGrowth Soil and AquaShrimp Powder in Japan among numerous mineral compositions. Their balanced formula will allow healthy plant growth and strong root development.
AquaGrowth Soil and AquaShrimp Powder are ready to use and it is not necessary to rinse them. A high temperature treatment (around 1200°C/2192°F) gives AquaGrowth Soil and AquaShrimp Powder their physical properties and allows them to be free of parasitic species which could contaminate the aquarium. Moreover, chemical analyzes carried out in order to reveal radioactive elements are negatives (see products’s pages).
AquaGrowth Soil, favors and stimulates growth of aquatic plants
Aquashrimp Powder, enriched soil adapted to shrimp and invertebrates
AquaShrimp Powder is the best way to welcome shrimp in a fresh water aquarium. Prodibio recommends to use it as an overlay of AquaGrowth Soil. The powder texture of AquaShrimp Powder is thin enough to avoid shrimp eggs to fall in the soil, while allowing plants to grow their roots properly and porous enough to allow nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria to properly colonize the substrate and properly improve the water quality.
Aquashrimp Powder is packed in bag 3 liters / 3kg corresponding to a thickness of 5 to 6 cm for a 20 liter aquarium
Aquashrimp Powder is ready to use and does not need to be rinsed.
BacterKit Soil
BacterKit Soil is a kit to seed an aquarium soil. It contains:
• Bacter Soil, includes several strains of living bacteria aimed at colonizing the soil of a new aquarium. Carefully selected bacteria of Bacter Soil will install optimal biological filtration.
• Nutri Soil, nutrients needed for proper bacterial development.
It is recommended to use Bacter Kit Soil with AquaGrowth Soil and/or AquaShrimp Powder by Prodibio. Backer Kit Soil is also suited for any other soil.
Once the aquarium is set up, use Start Up of Prodibio.

Plants are growing well. I put the soil in mesh bags to prevent it from mixing with top sand layer and coming through. Plant roots have gone through the mesh bags and are thriving. Next time I will put ADA powersand/ JBL. aquabassis or something similar underneath – I’ve seen much better results this way irrespective of the aquasoil used.
