ADA Cryptocoryne sivadasanii (Low Tech)
ADA Cryptocoryne sivadasanii comes from rivers in the southwest of India. Already introduced decades ago under the name Cryptocoryne consobrina, it remained very rare in the aquarium hobby and was virtually unavailabe in the trade.
Sivadasan’s water trumpet develops very narrow, up to more than 50 cm long submerged leaves and forms a tuft of several leaf rosettes. In contrast to many other Crypts, the plant does not form long runners, therefore it does not spread unchecked in the tank. Cryptocoryne sivadasanii hasn’t high requirements and tolerates hard water. It is propagated by cutting daughter rosettes from the base, another interesting form of propagation of this species is the development of young plantlets from buds on broken-off roots.
With its look that resembles a narrow-leaved Vallisneria and its controllable growth Cryptocoryne sivadasanii is very interesting for the aquascaping. It is best placed in the background to midground of taller aquariums. According to its origin from flowing waters, it should also be an appropriate plant for stream biotope tanks.

*This is a Tissue Culture Plant. They are grown in a Laboratory and are guaranteed to be snail, algae and pesticide-free. They are more expensive, even if the plant itself is smaller, the portion size is bigger. We recommend rinsing all tissue culture plants with dechlorinated water before planting.
