Salifert Ammonia NH3 Test Kit

Salifert Ammonia NH3 Test Kit is easy to use giving you quick and accurate readings of ammonia concentration in your reef aquarium.

It is critical to be aware of the levels of ammonia in your aquarium as any detectable ammonia in your aquarium is toxic to fish and invertebrates.

Ammonia and ammonium are substances that should be converted rapidly into nitrite followed by nitrate and nitrogen gas. If this does not happen then the aquarium is not fully cycled or biological processes are not proceeding as they should.

For Fresh and Saltwater

The Salifert Ammonia NH3 Test Kit can perform approx. 50 tests and can detect 0.5 ppm of total ammonia easily.

Directions for use:

Add with 2ml syringe 2 ml of water to the test vial.
Fill the 1ml syringe with 1ml NH3 reagent

Add 0.5ml to the test vial and swirl gently for 30 seconds.

Add the remaining 0.5ml and swirl gently for 10 seconds.

Allow to stand for 3 minutes.

Swirl the test vial gently for 5 seconds.

Hold the test vial in front of you and look through the side of the test vial. Keep the colour chart behind the test vial.

Ensure that a white piece of colour chart is behind the liquid layer. The values on the colour chart are in mg/L total ammonia (NH3 + NH4+).
