McMerwe’s Review: Chinese plastic with not enough filter media. The Price is the only reason it got 3/5 as a rating as the filter is not the best. You will definitely need additional filter media. An additional sponge will work great for this filter. The filter media included are carbon pieces enclosed in a thin layer of polyester filter pad. (Rating: 3/5)

    first ever hob filter and I must say the SH280 is absolutely silent . Works amazing when adding additional filter media but overall amazing product .

    The SH200 is a decent filter. Only complaint is that the filter compartment is a bit awkwardly designed for inserting media, and pump being in the water – while good for loadshedding and restarting does crowd up a nano tank.

    What’s good is the pump is constantly in the water, so for power outages it won’t burn out like many competitors.

    It’s my go to HOB filter.
