Malaysian Trumpet Snails – a Pet or Pest?
As a pet: Trumpet Snails can make interesting pets for some aquarists. Under the right conditions, Trumpet Snails can be an asset to an aquatic environment. This is especially true in tanks with live plants. These snails are so common that pet stores may throw a few in for free with another purchase. If purchasing Trumpet Snails, look for specimens that appear to be moving or affixed to hard surfaces. Avoid snails that are lying motionless or upside-down on the tank bottom. Also avoid purchasing snails kept in display tanks with dead, dying or diseased tank mates.
As a pest: To some hobbyists, Trumpet Snails are an unwanted, invasive and annoying pest. They are quick to reproduce and their numbers can increase in no time. Malaysian Trumpet Snails can find their way into tanks inadvertently, most often as hitch hikers catching a ride on live plants. Whether Malaysian Trumpet Snails are considered pet or pest depends on each individual hobbyist and the tank they are trying to keep.
Food
You can feed these snails Mineral Junkie Pearls. Mineral Junkie pearls can prevent pitting. The shell will also grow much more steady and sturdy.

Awesome little snails! They are still small but will grow soon enough. McMerwe was nice enough to add one more than I ordered.

It awesome how to go under the substrate to ensure there is no food left under there. They are peaceful to watch as they do their thing.

Love the look of these snails! I hope for them to multiply in my tank so they can clean the substrate effectively.

Purchased these for my shrimp tank, to aerate the substrate and add to the overall aesthetics. They travelled exceptionally well overnight from Bloemfontein to Johannesburg due to excellent packaging (including a heat pad).
They acclimated very well and are happy and healthy looking. The levels of service and communication that I received from Rolien and Jacques was faultless

Using these to aerate my substrate and clean up lower down in the substrate, Jacques has a great video on them and that sold me on getting them.

Great Price, good value for money and shipped on time as promised. Tossed them into the community tank for now, they are still Juvenile but are growing nicely and will make a nice constant food supply for my puffers.

Bought these as feeders for my Assassin Snail. They are juvenile so they have to grow up a bit before they can go to the Assassin. Just trough them in and now we wait, apparently they breed rather fast so have a back up plan for crowd control.
