McMerwe’s Review:Â Dophin did a really good job at giving us a filter at half the price of the Oase filters. It is a very good budget option to have less equipment inside of your tank. Its not close to the Oase build quality, but if you are on a budget – its still value for money. They say it can work with any heater – but this still needs to be confirmed. We still recomend do not use the diffuser that comes with these units for your co2, but rather use a Twinstar diffuser inside of you tank.

I bought the CF12308 and inserted a 200W heater inside. It works really well and runs without noise. Just be very careful when fitting the heater as the plastic cover which goes around the heater must be perfectly level (otherwise the heater wont fit in the filter correctly). It took me about 45 minutes to get it fitted perfectly – using some luke-warm water helped alot. Overall I think this is great value for money.

I took a lot of time researching good filters and bought the CF 12008 dophin canister filter. This is my first canister filter and could not believe the difference in water quality and clarity. The adjustable flow rate works great and the filter has a built in heater compartment which I am using and it is effective. Saved so much space inside the tank. Used in combination with the lily pipes the tank is aesthetically pleasing. Thanks for all the advice over the last month McMerwe!
