Bucephalandra sp. “Biblis
Description
Bucephalandra sp. “Biblis” is a decorative, relatively small Bucephalandra form. Its exact locality and species belonging is unknown to us, but as all Bucephalandras, it occurs on rock along streams in Borneo. This plant has a creeping rhizome and gets about 8 cm high. It resembles Bucephalandra sordidula; its narrowly spathulate leaves have a curly margin and dark green to red-brown tones. Our plant is propagated in nurseries and tissue culture labs; it is not collected in the nature for the trade.
As well as other Bucephalandra forms, it is best used as epiphyte on rock or wood, however it can also be fixed to the ground, provided that the rhizome is not buried. It is easily propagated by cuttings. Medium lighting, good CO2 and nutrient supply and water current are recommendable.
Bucephalandra sp. “Biblis” is a versatile plant for the hardscape. It forms a dense group with time.
