These bio pellets are designed for marine aquarists who want a natural and efficient way to reduce nitrate and phosphate levels in reef aquariums. They’re ideal for reef keepers running nutrient-rich systems who want clearer water and healthier corals without relying solely on chemical filtration.

The new formula Aqua Ocean NP Bio Pellets is composed of 100% pure biologically degradable polymers that can be placed in a fluidized filter or mini filter canister. The pellets will allow aerobic growth of bacteria which consequently will consume nitrate and phosphate simultaneously. The bacteria will use up the carbon from the NP Bio Pellets, whilst nitrogen and phosphorus are taken from the water as nitrate and (ortho) phosphate. This conversion of organic NP Bio Pellets (together with inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus) into microbial biomass is called immobilization. In addition, anaerobic layers will develop, resulting in additional denitrification.

Compatibility / warnings
For marine aquariums only. Requires adequate water flow and protein skimming to remove excess bacterial biomass. Introducing too many pellets too quickly may cause bacterial blooms or oxygen depletion, so gradual implementation is essential.
