ADA Anoectochilus roxburghii (Jewel Orchid)
ADA Anoectochilus roxburghii is a beautiful jewel orchid species that has distinct venation throughout its leaves that give it an electrifying appearance!
This is a warm-growing terrestrial species that can be found on the forest floor or on steep well shaded hills or cliffs among leaf litter. This plant is easy to grow and flower with some of the most beautiful foliage to be found among the jewel orchids. We believe these grow best in New Zealand sphagnum moss, allowing the moss to just approach dryness between watering.
The white, frayed flowers emerge from the center of the rosette of leaves as a point almost looking like asparagus in structure. Over a couple of months these spikes elongate, reveal their flower buds and flower for a month or two. Once flowered, a new growth will be generated at the base and the flowered growth will eventually fade away.
