Naturally forming compact cushions, this moss adds an instant sense of maturity and natural realism to terrariums, paludariums, vivariums, and planted displays. Its low-growing, carpeting habit makes it ideal for foregrounds, accent areas, and softening hardscape elements like rocks and wood, creating a lush forest-floor effect.

Planting Instructions for Horizon Labs Live Cushion Moss:
Carefully remove the moss from its container and gently separate it into smaller portions if needed.
Rinse lightly with clean, dechlorinated water to remove any debris.
Place the moss directly onto damp substrate, soil, rock, or wood surfaces.
Gently press it into place to ensure good contact with the surface.
For vertical or hardscape placement, secure temporarily with fine mesh, fishing line, or moss pins until it attaches naturally.
Avoid burying the moss, as it prefers to sit on the surface.

Establishment & Care Process:
Live Cushion Moss is already adapted to humid, terrestrial environments and does not require any transition period.
Maintain consistently high humidity to encourage compact, cushion-like growth.
Provide bright, indirect lighting to keep the moss vibrant and prevent browning.
Mist regularly to keep the moss moist, but avoid constant saturation or standing water.
Good airflow helps prevent mold and keeps the moss healthy in enclosed setups.
Fertilization is generally unnecessary; occasional misting with very dilute fertilizer can be used if desired.
Growth is gradual, but with stable conditions the moss will thicken and spread naturally over time.
