Nature Boys Cape Cones are a natural, aquarium-safe botanical that bring both beauty and biological benefits to shrimp and small fish tanks. These small, textured seed cones release mild tannins and beneficial compounds that help create a more natural, bioactive environment—similar to the soft, slightly acidic waters shrimp experience in the wild.

As the cones slowly break down, they encourage the formation of biofilm, a favourite food source for shrimp and fry. Their rough, compact structure also provides excellent micro-hiding spaces for shrimplets, offering protection from larger tank mates while supporting natural grazing behaviour. Cape Cones are gentle enough for regular use and do not cloud the water when prepared correctly.

Because they release tannins gradually, they help stabilise water conditions, support good moulting cycles, and may reduce the likelihood of bacterial issues in sensitive shrimp species. Their earthy appearance also makes them a great addition to blackwater biotopes, natural aquascapes, and breeding tanks.

How to Use:

• Rinse the cones well before use.

• For best results, soak in hot water until fully waterlogged to ensure they sink immediately.

• Use 1–2 cones per 20 litres as a starting point; add more gradually depending on tannin preference and tank size.

• Replace as needed once cones begin to soften or fully break down.
