Nature Boys Africa Cholla Wood is a 100% natural, aquarium-safe wood designed to enhance both the aesthetics and health of freshwater and shrimp tanks. Known for its porous structure, Cholla wood provides an ideal surface for biofilm growth, giving shrimp, snails, and fry a nutritious grazing area. Its hollow stems also create shelter and hiding spots, reducing stress and encouraging natural behavior in aquarium inhabitants.
Beyond its functional benefits, Nature Boys Africa Cholla Wood slowly releases tannins into the water, helping to soften and slightly acidify the aquarium water, creating conditions similar to the natural habitats of many tropical fish and shrimp. Its unique cylindrical shape adds a natural, rustic look to planted tanks, shrimp setups, and aquascapes.
Usage Instructions

Rinse thoroughly before use to remove any dust or debris.

Optional: Soak in water for several hours to help tannins release slowly.

Place directly in the aquarium or paludarium.

Can be combined with other botanicals like Cassia Curls, Banana Leaf Chips, or Mulberry Leaves for a fully natural setup.

Nature Boys Africa Cholla Fingers creates a good biofilm for fish and shrimp. It does take a while to completely sink, but it’s to be expected with any wood-type product in your aquarium. will buy again!

A fantastic natural tunnel that I have no doubt that shrimp love. For quick reference my “80g-100g piece is 12cm long and around 5,5cm across. The 100g-150g is 12cm long and also around 5,5cm across but less of a hollow tunnel. Will definitely get more.
