The Chopstick Snail is a non-eater of plants. Actually a very slow moving snail. The Chopstick Snail likes to climb, burrow, and eat waste. This is not to be mistaken with the Malaysian Trumpet snail which is a noxious mass reproducing snail where if you have 1 you’ll end up with 1000’s. No. The Chopstick Snail is rarely found in the aquatic trade and only produces 1 live baby at a time a few times per year.
Remember these snails are for keeping your gravel or aquatic soil naturally aerated to release gases that can build up in your substrate. Chopstick Snails will not harm plant roots in the substrate.

I have two of these guys, they’re great. I bought them for functional reasons but I’ve come to love watching them burrow.
